Oklahoma Transfer Gentry Williams Joins Georgia Bulldogs
Oklahoma transfer defensive back Gentry Williams has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs, bringing a talented and experienced player to the team. As a rising senior, Williams will have one season of college eligibility remaining in Athens. He faced challenges due to a lingering shoulder injury, which limited him to just six games in 2025 and required season-ending surgery after missing the Sooners' final six games.
Williams, a former four-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class, was ranked as the No. 1 player in Oklahoma and No. 9 cornerback by Rivals Industry Rankings. Despite his injuries, he made a positive impact, tallying 10 total tackles, including one tackle for loss and two pass breakups, before his shoulder injury. His decision to transfer was anticipated, as he participated in Senior Day festivities for the Sooners' final game against LSU.
Williams was rated as a three-star prospect in the On3 Transfer Portal Industry Rankings, ranking No. 667 overall and No. 54 overall as a safety. The 2025-26 college football transfer portal will be open for 15 days, from January 2 to January 16, giving players ample time to explore their options. Another Transfer: Kentucky's Dante Dowdell Joins Georgia
In other transfer news, Kentucky running back Dante Dowdell has signed with Georgia. Dowdell, who spent the previous year with the Wildcats, originally enrolled at Oregon in 2023 and played in six games. He then transferred to Nebraska for his sophomore season in 2024, where he excelled with 614 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. At Kentucky, Dowdell continued his success with 560 rushing yards and three scores, while also catching seven passes for 50 yards.
With a total of 1,264 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns in his career, Dowdell's addition to the Georgia Bulldogs further strengthens the team's offensive capabilities.
