"But, you know, we prove that business case every time we go out… If we don’t get to make 4 and 5, for whatever reason, I’ll hold a press conference and I’ll tell you what we were gonna do. How’s that?"

While not ideal for fans craving the cinematic experience, it offers a glimpse into the planned narratives. Cameron's perspective on the situation is pragmatic. Speaking to Variety, he acknowledged the uncertainty, stating, "We’re getting ahead of ourselves." He emphasized the need for Fire and Ash to generate substantial revenue, highlighting the evolving landscape of theatrical releases. He noted the challenging year for the industry but remained optimistic, citing the recent successes of films like Wicked: For Good and Zootopia 2.
